Expressive art course open to anyone who wants to learn a little more about themselves.
Entry Requirements: No formal qualifications - open to everyone. A computer with broadband, headphones with microphone, some pencils, paper, paints and most important a desire to know more about yourself.
Award: This course offers no formal qualification as it is intended for recreation. However students may be able to submit their work for formal evaluation by later converting to one of our certificated courses.
Structure
In this course you will be gently introduced to aspects of expressive painting and drawing. You will quickly find your feet and feel comfortable making artwork you never thought possible. You will also be introduced to the work of some of the great expressive artists and be encouraged to try some of their ideas and techniques.
Assessment
When you are ready to share a piece of your work with your tutor they will discuss it with you. As you can't make a piece of expressive work that is 'wrong' you will never receive a low grade or be made to feel inadequate. We are much more interested in what the work means to you than in how it meets with someone elses rules or criteria. We believe all art is significant if it is meaningful to the creator.
While we find that the production of expressive art is often a solitary activity group discussion later is particularly powerful in getting to the meaning of our work. The life experiences of group members is of immense value and contributes much to our understanding and future work.
